Faculty Development at TAMCC

The Faculty Development Committee of TAMCC with the support of McMaster University continues to create change by improving the teaching and learning experience at the College.

The new Braithwaite Center for Teaching and Learning (BCTL) is established. A prominent feature of this center is its Educational Develop Unit (EDU).

New positions are established  

i.                   Lead Educational Developer – Irwin Abraham

ii.        Second Educational Developer -Lisa Francis-Charles 

iii.                Pedagogic Partner - David John (student), and

iv.                Post-Baccalaureate Fellow for Student-Faculty Partnerships – Expatriate expert to be recruited by McMaster University.

In this regard, a team from McMaster University will be visiting TAMCC from March 19 – April 2, 2018 to facilitate various retreats/workshops.

The focus of these retreats is on:

a)      The creation of a new workshop series for faculty development;

b)      Refining the vision and mandate of the BCTL;

c)      Completing the quality assurance framework, policies, reporting structures, and self-study templates related to new and existing academic programmes;

d)      Conducting interviews with certified ISW faculty at TAMCC to complete the McMaster research study on the long-term impacts of the ISW program.
